Everett Garage Roof Replacement with GAF Natural Shadow Charcoal
This Everett project focused on replacing a garage roof using GAF Natural Shadow shingles in Charcoal. The system includes synthetic underlayment, new metal flashing, and a full gutter and downspout installation. The result is a clean, durable roofing system built for long-term performance.
Project Overview
This project in Everett, WA involved the replacement of a detached garage roof with a steep 8/12 pitch. The existing composition roof had reached the end of its lifespan and required a full tear-off and replacement. After removing the old roofing materials, the deck was inspected to ensure it was structurally sound. A synthetic underlayment was installed to provide a moisture barrier, followed by GAF Natural Shadow shingles in Charcoal for a clean, consistent finish. Because the structure had no vents or roof penetrations, the installation was straightforward, allowing for a streamlined roofing system with fewer potential leak points. New metal flashing was installed at all critical areas, along with starter shingles and ridge cap for proper water shedding. Additionally, a new white K-style gutter system and downspouts were installed to improve drainage and direct water away from the structure.
Results
The new roof provides a sharp, updated appearance while significantly improving protection against the elements. The Charcoal shingles contrast nicely with the structure’s exterior, giving it a modern, clean look. With new gutters and proper drainage in place, the building is better equipped to handle heavy rainfall common in the Everett area. The simplified roof design, combined with quality materials, ensures long-term durability with minimal maintenance.
